Contract Acceptance“Mimi Harling is a people person with a vision,” says Carl Movrich. “She takes pride in her skills and is sought after for her design expertise. Her grandparents, who started the business in 1939, were her first mentors. She grew up behind the scenes and behind the counter.” When her father expanded Drapery Connection into the suburbs, her professional career began. She managed their first west suburban showrooms more than 30 years ago.
Mimi’s degree in retail management was enriched with design, textile and motorization courses, along with educational seminars at the Chicago Merchandise Mart. To keep current, she is also an active member of The International Window Covering Exchange Group.
“Clients want their home to be unique and different from their friends and family,” says Mimi. They want to reflect their own personal style and creativity in their home. Her clients are passionate for great design and want their homes to reflect who they are in a beautiful way. It is Mimi’s goal to make the design process an exceptional experience whether it be at the client’s condo or home residence or executive office. Mimi’s personal attention and her extensive design experience ensures each client a window treatment that will exceed their expectations.
Mimi finds networking with “the trade” valuable to her extensive knowledge of all window coverings and their application. Over the years, she has worked with builders, architects and independent interior designers – helping them solve their window treatment challenges.
